Lions Don't Sound Overly Impressed With Rudi Johnson

Running back Rudi Johnson worked out with the Lions today and Matt Millen didn't exactly sound all that impressed with how things went.

“He’s got some decisions to make, too,” president Matt Millen said as he walked onto the practice field today. “We’re where we’re at. If he’s comfortable with it, fine. If he’s not comfortable with it … But there’s other things too. We’ve just got to get through some other decisions.”

“He looked fine,” Millen said. “Looked like him. Same feet. Same thick body. Same everything. Now, we’re kind of right in the middle of it.”

Tom Lewand also added this about the situation:

“We kick the tires on a lot of guys,” Lewand said. “We see who’s out there. We look at every opportunity to make ourselves better. That’s what we do.

“When we bring guys in for workouts and physicals and those kinds of things, it doesn’t necessarily mean that anything’s imminent. It means that we’re doing our due diligence.”

It definitely doesn't sound like Johnson will be signed anytime soon, but things could change quickly.  I just didn't get the feeling that Millen liked what he saw, but then again, that may mean nothing at all, especially with Millen.
