Thursday Notes: Lions Sign Louis Delmas

  • Second-round pick Louis Delmas agreed to a deal earlier today (for four-years, according to Drew Rosenhaus), and by now that deal should be signed.  Delmas was at the Lions' headquarters today to sign his deal, meaning he will be able to report to training camp on time.  With Delmas in the fold, that is seven rookies down, three to go.  The remaining three are Brandon Pettigrew, Derrick Williams, and Sammie Hill.

UPDATE: The Lions have confirmed the signing and have also announced that Eric Hicks has been released.
  • Jim Schwartz seemed to enjoy playing in the Buck Open pro-am yesterday.  The fans seemed to enjoy him as well, as Schwartz signed autographs and got a suggestion about what play the Lions should open the season with.  For Schwartz, this was like his last relaxing event for quite some time, as he will be a little busy with football starting Saturday.
  • Radio interviews: Tom Lewand on WJR, Gunther Cunningham on WBBL, and Matthew Stafford on the WRIF.
  • Free agent wide receiver D.J. Hackett visited the Lions on Tuesday.
