Calvin Johnson practiced on Thursday, but like Wednesday, he was limited. He did actually have passes thrown in his direction, which is a change from Wednesday, but he was favoring his right shoulder and mainly made catches with his left arm. That's not a good sign for Sunday's game, but it sounds like it will be a game-time decision no matter what, as it will come down to whether or not his shoulder heals enough in the next few days.
Matthew Stafford again missed practice. Although he still has not been ruled out for Sunday, the fact that he hasn't practiced at all signals to me he isn't going to play. Perhaps Jim Schwartz isn't ruling him out or naming a starter to play mind games with the Giants, but I think it's pretty obvious Shaun Hill will start. The Giants certainly feel that way, as they have been solely preparing for Hill. While Stafford playing would be a nice curve ball, he wouldn't even be effective without any practice, so I think we can all read between the lines on this.
DeAndre Levy and Landon Johnson also missed practice again. Levy has been out for a couple weeks now, so I wouldn't expect him to play this week. As for Johnson, he is recovering from a concussion and hasn't passed the tests to get back on the field just yet. Earlier in the season, a concussion kept Zack Follett out for a game. Tony Scheffler missed a practice because of a concussion earlier in the season, but he played in the game later that week.
Some other pieces of injury news: Jahvid Best was back at practice after a day off on Wednesday and Nathan Vasher and Turk McBride missed Thursday's practice.
