Lions Sign Ian Johnson To Practice Squad; News On Today's Practice

The Lions signed former Boise State running back Ian Johnson (yes, the Ian Johnson who proposed to his cheerleader girlfriend on national TV after scoring the game-winning two-point conversion in the Fiesta Bowl) on Wednesday. To make room for him, they put Mike Moore on the practice squad injured list.

Johnson signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent and spent the 2009 season on the practice squad. He was released during the final round of this year's roster cuts, but he was signed to the Cardinals' practice squad a couple days later. Arizona let him go toward the end of September, and now he is with the Lions.

In other news, most of the players who missed practice yesterday were back today. Jahvid Best and Cliff Avril still missed practice, but Best is expected to play. It's looking like Avril won't be back until Thanksgiving, though.
