For his three-touchdown performance against the Washington Redskins, Lions receiver Calvin Johnson has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. Johnson had a career-high day for touchdowns on Sunday. Also, he made nine catches for 101 yards while helping the Lions beat the Redskins.

Two other Lions, Matthew Stafford and Ndamukong Suh, are nominees for some weekly honors. Stafford is one of three nominees for the FedEx Air Player of the Week, nominated along with Jason Campbell of the Raiders and David Garrard of the Jaguars. Stafford is up for the award for completing 26 of 45 passes for 212 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Stafford is also one of three nominees for the GMC Never Say Never award.

Ndamukong Suh is one of five nominees for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week award. Jahvid Best received the honor in Week 2 of the season, and now Suh is a candidate for the award after having two sacks, four tackles and a fumble return for a touchdown on Sunday.
