2010 Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft: Pick No. 1

Rd. # Player Pos. College
1 1 Sam Bradford
QB
Oklahoma
General Manager: mgersz

With the first pick of the 2010 Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft, the St. Louis Rams select Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford.

Here is mgersz's reasoning for the pick:

As a Detroit Lions fan this draft pick brought me back to last season. I found myself on the Aaron Curry bandwagon hopefully destined for Motown. DrewsLions was one of the only "wise" people from PrideofDetroit who had the guts to "go against the grain." He made the call to roll the dice and "went all in" with Matthew Stafford. I believe that our franchise would be MUCH further in the hole if we would have waited for the "deep draft of QB's" in 2010 like I thought. NOW I know that Matthew Stafford was the ONLY pick that we could have made last year. I find myself in a very similar position with this pick. My heart is telling me to pick Ndamukong Suh (Curry) but my brain is telling me to pull the trigger on Bradford. I believe that the QB situation is DOOMED right now and any pick other than Bradford would be disastrous for the future of this franchise. Looking at ALL the holes that need to be filled for the Rams, I am left with my heart and my brain. Thank God this was a no-brainer. Sam Bradford is the new "babyface" of the franchise.
