Lions Release Kalvin Pearson

Just a day after releasing Daniel Loper, the Lions have cut ties with another player -- safety Kalvin Pearson.

Pearson joined the Lions in 2008 after the Buccaneers declined to match the offer Detroit gave him.  Although Pearson was a restricted free agent, Detroit didn't have to give up anything to the Bucs to sign him since his tender didn't include any compensation.

Pearson's base salary for 2010 would have been $640,000.
