2010 Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft: Pick No. 56

Rd. # Player Pos. College
2 56 Rodger Saffold
OT
Indiana
General Manager: Gyorick

With the 56th pick of the 2010 Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft, the Green Bay Packers select Indiana offensive tackle Rodger Saffold.

Here is Gyorick's reasoning for the pick:

We took care of CB in the first round with Kareem Jackson. I took a beating with that pick, but like I thought, there would be better value at OT than there would be at CB with the 56th pick. Patrick Robinson is available, but I don't think anyone likes him because he is a lazy bum. So that leaves Perrish Cox as the other CB available here, and he is ranked 65 on list of 100. Rodger Saffold, who stands at 6'4'' and weighs in at 316 pounds, is ranked at 34 out of 100.

Anyways, back to the Packers... their tackles are good but old. Saffold has played at LT since his freshman year at Indiana and could play OG until an injury or retirement. He can hold his own with run/pass blocking. He has a high motor and lots of leadership; the only negative is he has trouble with bull-rushing DEs.
