With the 57th pick of the 2010 Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select Florida tight end Aaron Hernandez.
Here is TonyDC's reasoning for the pick:
With my first round pick I mentioned the Ravens needed a DE, which I addressed, and they also needed a CB and TE. I considered FSU CB Patrick Robinson here (I have seen him projected in the 1st round in some mock drafts), but ultimately I had to address the offense since I went defense on the first pick.
The Ravens need to give Flacco as many offensive threats as they can. They get one here with possibly the best pass-catching TE in the draft. He's a big play TE that should be a great compliment to Donte Stallworth and Anquan Boldin and should fit in well. The knocks on him are that he is short (6' 2", but he is still 250 lbs.) and that he needs to work on his blocking and coverage skills. He should be able to catch up in these areas due to his athleticism and ability to mirror defenders.
