Jimmy Fallon Shows the Lions More Love

Both Matthew Stafford and Ndamukong Suh, the Lions' top draft picks from last year and this year, appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon prior to being drafted by Detroit.  Fallon really talked up the city of Detroit when Suh was on earlier this month, saying "Detroit is awesome. Detroit is so cool. I love Detroit."  Fallon also mentioned to Suh that Stafford is a "great dude" and a "class act."

Basically, Fallon gave the Lions and Detroit a lot of love, which was fitting since both players he had on his show ended up being drafted by the Lions.  As a result, Jim Schwartz sent Fallon a personalized jersey complete with a "FALLON" nameplate on the back, as well as a note thanking him for sending Suh to Detroit just like he did with Stafford a year ago.  Fallon joked that he wasn't sure if the gesture was an invitation to come play for the Lions and said that he's "pretty awful."  But he quickly made sure to point out that he is good at Madden and that he is the Lions' man if they need a "virtual video game guy who plays football."  He also said that he does love Detroit and that the Lions will be his team in Madden 11 before ending the segment by thanking Schwartz and saying, "I love those guys."  Looks like we have a new Lions fan in NYC.

You can check out the segment below (it starts at the 35:30 mark):
