Ndamukong Suh's Deal Has $40 Million Guaranteed

FOX Sports' Jay Glazer is reporting that Ndamukong Suh's five-year deal with the Lions includes $40 million guaranteed. By comparison, Matthew Stafford's deal has $41.7 million guaranteed, so the Lions' franchise quarterback will not be paid less than a defensive tackle that was the second overall pick.

As for the rest of Suh's contract, the baseline number is $60 million, but it could end up maxing out at $68 million.

It's tough to say what the obstacle was in the negotiations since that's between Suh's agents and the Lions, but I am more than pleased with the amount of money he ended up getting. I was really concerned that Suh could get more than Stafford, which just wouldn't have felt right. In the end he didn't, and like I said before, we can now move on to football and stop worrying about contracts.
