Safety Louis Delmas and tight end Will Heller were both removed from the PUP list this morning and in turn made their practice debut for this year's edition of training camp.
Delmas had been recovering from a groin injury and last week, as we all know, a rumor popped up that it was more serious than originally thought and may require surgery. That rumor was quickly debunked by both Delmas and Jim Schwartz, who is very happy that one of his top defenders is back on the practice field.
We missed Louis on the field. Our defense needs to play with his personality; we need him on the field & communicating. Good to see 26 back.
Today, Delmas and Heller mainly did individual stuff, but Schwartz says the "next step" is for them to take part in 7-on-7 situations.
With Delmas and Heller practicing, the PUP list is down to just two players: Jack Williams and Ko Simpson. There's no telling when they will be back, but hopefully it will be sometime soon since the secondary is pretty banged up and could use a couple of fresh faces.
