Things change quickly, and Jim Schwartz has quickly gone from not ruling Matthew Stafford out on Sunday to naming Shaun Hill the Lions' starting quarterback for the Vikings game.
Schwartz said Shaun Hill will make his second start this weekend. Stafford said shoulder is doing better but he hasn't tried throwing yet.
I'm not quite sure what changed Schwartz's mind so quickly, but just like last week, Hill has been named the starter relatively early on in the week. This allows the Lions to go into Sunday's game knowing who will be leading the offense, and hopefully with another week of reps as the starter, Hill and the offense will be even more effective.
By the way, when Hill went up against the Vikings last year as the 49ers' starter, he completed 15 of 25 attempts for 195 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw one interception.
