Jim Schwartz Declines To Name Starter At Quarterback For Sunday

Matthew Stafford again took first-team reps with the offense today, suggesting he will be the starter on Sunday when the Detroit Lions take on the Denver Broncos. We won't know for sure until Sunday, though. Although it looks promising and comments from Jim Schwartz suggest Stafford will be the starter, Schwartz isn't going to announce anything before the game.

"I don't know officially if he's a game-time decision," Schwartz said. "We won't announce anything before then."

Schwartz said that Stafford was "better today than he was yesterday." Barring a setback before the game, it's a good bet that Stafford will get the start and remain on track to play all 16 games. While he may not be 100 percent healthy, the injury doesn't appear to be affecting Stafford enough to keep him out.

The official injury report for Sunday's game will be released later this afternoon. I would guess Stafford's status will be questionable since he was technically limited in practice the last two days.
