Lions Game Ball Of The Week: Chris Houston

After struggling to find someone worthy of being selected for the Lions game ball of the week for the 49ers and Falcons games, it's refreshing to have several choices following Sunday's 45-10 win over the Broncos. Guys like Matthew Stafford, Titus Young, Calvin Johnson and Tony Scheffler are all deserving of the honor, but this week I'm going with a pair of defensive players. (Since the Lions don't have a game next week, I'm doing two game ball posts this week.)

The first defensive player to receive a game ball this week is cornerback Chris Houston. He recorded six tackles, two pass defenses and an interception that was returned 100 yards for a touchdown on Sunday against Denver. It was yet another solid performance by Houston, who already has a career-high four interceptions this season. He is only two pass defenses away from matching last year's total (12), and he is on pace for a career-high 82 tackles.

The second game ball of the week will be handed out tomorrow. I think you can probably guess who it is, and if not, here's a hint: He was recently a guest on the Pride of Detroit Podcast.
