Ndamukong Suh Voted Dirtiest Player In NFL By Poll Of Players

Much has been made in the past few months about Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh's style of play and if he is a dirty player. To Lions fans, the debate has been blown out of proportion by a select few plays, but to many fans of other teams and some in the national media, those plays are evidence of Suh's dirty play.

The debate in the media aside, the Sporting News recently sought out 111 players for a midseason poll about a number of issues. One of the questions revolved around the dirtiest player in the NFL, and Suh picked up 36 votes, besting Steelers linebacker James Harrison by 27 votes.

An unnamed AFC offensive player said Suh hits and throws guys down after the whistle, which is apparently the source of his dirtiness. Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington also voted for Suh, but he seemed to think of this as a positive thing rather than a negative.

"Suh. I’m not necessarily saying dirty but just aggressive and intense. I’m on the defensive side of the ball. I like the way he plays. I wouldn’t mind having a guy like that in front of me."

Dirty or not, there's no doubt Suh has made the rest of the NFL take notice of him despite only being in his second year in the league.
