- New Lions running back Joique Bell, who has agreed to a two-year deal, is excited to get a chance to play for his hometown team, and he is expecting to play on Sunday against the Packers.
- Following the Lions' win over the Chargers, owner William Clay Ford was presented with a game ball.
- Also following the win, Lions players took a victory lap around Ford Field and thanked fans for their support, much like they did in 2009 after a win over the Redskins ended their lengthy losing streak.
- Sunday's game between the Lions and Packers will begin at 1 p.m. as originally scheduled. (Some games had their start times changed, including the de facto NFC East title game between the Giants and Cowboys, which was flexed to Sunday night.)
- Speaking of that game, if the Cowboys win and clinch the NFC East title, the Lions will have played all five of the other teams in the playoffs for the NFC. They beat Dallas back in September and have lost games against the Packers, 49ers, Saints and Falcons.
- Ndamukong Suh was recently ranked as the most charitable athlete in the United States.
- During Saturday's game against the Chargers, an idea popped up on Twitter for a Jason Hanson nickname: "Legatron." I like it.
- Vikings running back Adrian Peterson tore his ACL and MCL on Saturday against the Redskins. Although the Vikings are hopeful that he will be ready for Week 1 of next season, he faces a long road back from this injury.
- Apparently there is some talk in Miami about the Dolphins potentially trading left tackle Jake Long. I doubt it would ever happen, but can you imagine how nice it would be to add someone like that to the Lions' offense, especially with Jeff Backus nearing the end of his career?
