Pittsburgh DE Greg Romeus Visits Detroit Lions

Florida center Mike Pouncey visited with the Detroit Lions today, not yesterday, which was previously reported. He was in town with Pittsburgh defensive end Greg Romeus, who also visited with the team on Thursday.

Romeus, like Bruce Carter, is coming off of an ACL injury. He tore it back in November, so it looks like he could be another guy whose talent is better than his stock suggests. Picking anybody that recently had a knee injury is risky, but if he falls far enough it could be worth it.

For what it's worth, Romeus likes what he sees out of the Lions' defense.

"The Lions’ defense is much different compared to other defenses that I’ve seen. It works. I love the way their scheme is presented with the way they’re playing and just the hustling that they have on the field. It would be a great fit for me."

Pouncey also spoke highly of the Lions. In addition, he discussed the experience of playing his first game at Florida as the team's starting center.

"I knew all the line calls, it was just tough after the first game. I went out and had a bad game. I felt like crap. I told myself when I left the locker room I’d never play like that again. Since that game I had a great season."
