This year, EA Sports is determining which NFL player will be on the cover of Madden by holding a fan vote. One player from each team (aside from Seattle, which is represented by "The 12th Man") is in a March Madness style bracket and there will be five rounds of voting to eventually narrow the bracket down to one winner.
For the Detroit Lions, their representative is defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. Unfortunately for him, EA Sports gave him one of the two No. 16 seeds, and he is going up against Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the first round. Considering Rodgers is coming off of winning the Super Bowl, many believed he should be on the cover of Madden NFL 12 before it came out that a vote was going to be held. While many non-Lions fans like Suh, he will need all of the help he can get in order to upset Rodgers and advance to round two.
I know some of you might not want Suh to advance and potentially land the cover of Madden 12 because of the concern over the curse associated with it. In that regard, having Rodgers eventually win the whole thing to end up on the cover wouldn't be a bad thing. Then again, curse or not, it would be pretty cool for the Lions to get enough love that Suh wins the vote and adorns the cover of the most popular sports video game. Besides, Suh is on board with it:
Preciate all the votes for the madden cover, Gota sack mr Rodgers one more time this season!!
You heard the man. Vote now.
