Depending on if you believe in the supposed curse associated with being on the cover of Madden, this will either be good or bad news for you: Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was eliminated from the Madden 12 cover contest in the first round by Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers won the vote by a margin of 72 percent to 28 percent to advance on to the second round.
Rodgers' opponent in the second round is St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford. If Rodgers gets by him, he will go up against New England Patriots running back Danny Woodhead or New York Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks. The bottom part of Rodgers' bracket includes matchups between Maurice Jones-Drew and Jamaal Charles and Matt Ryan and Peyton Hillis.
Based on the way the bracket shakes out, it seems like Rodgers has a pretty easy path to the finals. I'd put my money on him to win the whole thing and end up on the cover of Madden 12, and if that does indeed happen then I will start hoping there is indeed a Madden curse, at least for this year. I like Rodgers even though he is on the Packers, but for the Lions to make a run in the division they could use a down year out of the Super Bowl MVP.
