With the second pick of the 2011 Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft, the Denver Broncos select Texas A&M linebacker Von Miller.

Here is CapitolLions' reasoning for the pick:

Switching to the 4-3 this year, John Fox is looking for an athletic LB to replace Elvis Dumervil and Robert Ayers, who will both be moved to DE. Miller may struggle in run support at the start, but he will rely on his athleticism and closing speed to make up for his decision making, which should improve quickly. He will over-pursue at times, but can run players down from the back side.

One of the more athletically gifted LBs to come along in a while, Miller may end up with his hands in the dirt for nickel or hybrid situations, giving Denver three lights out pass rushers. Some of us in the front office considered Nick Fairly or Marcell Dareus here, but seeing as Denver has two picks in the second round, we should be able to pick up Corey Liuget, Stephen Paea, Muhammad Wilkerson or Marvin Austin ... maybe even two of those four.
