2011 NFL Schedule To Be Released On Tuesday

The entire 2011 NFL schedule is set to be announced on Tuesday at 7 p.m. NFL Network will have a live schedule release show, and NFL.com will have a breakdown of 2011's slate of games as well. Like always, I'm sure bits and pieces of the schedule will leak out throughout the day, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled even before 7 p.m.

As a reminder, here are the Detroit Lions' 2011 opponents:

Home Games

Green Bay Packers
Chicago Bears
Minnesota Vikings
Atlanta Falcons
Carolina Panthers
San Francisco 49ers
Kansas City Chiefs
San Diego Chargers

Away Games

Green Bay Packers
Chicago Bears
Minnesota Vikings
New Orleans Saints
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Dallas Cowboys
Denver Broncos
Oakland Raiders

I have two main predictions for 2011: 1) The Lions will host the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving; and 2) Detroit will finally get a Monday Night Football game involving the Lions. Yes, I think Monday Night Football will feature a Lions game for the first time in a decade. This just feels like the year for it to happen, especially after Detroit played host to a game between the Vikings and Giants on a Monday night last season. Detroit deserves to have the Lions' MNF drought to come to an end.
