- The full details aren't out yet, but the Lions are going to host a draft party at the Hard Rock Cafe in Detroit next Friday from 4-8 p.m.
- Based on records from last season, the Detroit Lions' 2011 schedule is tied for the third-most difficult.
- Gil Brandt said that he has a "little bit of a connection" to Jim Schwartz and that he doesn't think the Lions will draft an offensive lineman. Instead he believes the Lions will go with a defensive player. I personally agree with him. I don't think the Lions will take one of the offensive tackles, especially if Tyron Smith is off the board like many expect.
- Dr. James Andrews has cleared North Carolina linebacker Bruce Carter for pre-draft workouts. That's both good news and bad news. The good news is that he is recovering, but the bad news is his stock could get a boost and he could be off the board before the Lions have a chance to pick him in the second or third round.
- Matthew Stafford apparently threw the ball 50 yards with ease at Georgia's spring game last Saturday.
- According to Rick Reilly, Stafford is "trying to open a wings restaurant in Atlanta" with Philadelphia Eagles receiver Chad Hall, who is the brother of Stafford's girlfriend.
- Stafford thinks there will be football in 2011.
- Mel Kiper thinks it would be a good pick if the Lions took Jimmy Smith 13th overall.
- The Lions reportedly wanted to schedule a visit with LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson, but his schedule was too full.
- Ndamukong Suh's tweetup was attended by 1,935 people, which is expected to be named a world record.
- National Football Post's Wes Bunting has the Lions trading up to the 10th pick to select Aldon Smith in his latest 2011 NFL mock draft.
- The NFL lockout will prevent teams from signing undrafted free agents.
- Both Cliff Avril and Nate Burleson are excited for the Monday Night Football game against the Bears. Burleson described it as being "the closest thing to the playoffs before the playoffs actually start." Hopefully the Lions will get to experience both MNF and the playoffs next season.
- You can check out ESPN's full Monday Night Football schedule for the 2011 season here. It's still a bit odd seeing the Lions on the schedule, especially as a home team.
