With the eighth pick of Pride of Detroit's 2011 NFL Mock Draft, the Tennessee Titans select North Carolina defensive end Robert Quinn.

Here is lionsfan_772's reasoning for the pick:

This was a hard one and I felt after going over to Music City Miracles and scrolling through tons of "experts" and other blogs picks that this team has many needs. QB, WR, CB and DL are this team's biggest needs and their fans all agree. There were some great conversations over there about who should be picked at No. 8.

So there sits our big board just knowing that Marcell Dareus or Nick Fairley was going to fall in our laps. Here in Titan land we were wanting a DT and trying to figure out what's going on in the other war rooms. We did all the data complying and out pops ERROR. We look up and not only are these two gone, but our top six players are off the board. With all of our top choices gone, we had to go with plan B.

Without further ado, the Tennessee Titans decided to select DE Robert Quinn. Robert has been awesome since day one of stepping onto the field in Chapel Hill. He finished third in ACC ROY honors with him recording two fumble recoveries, six and a half tackles for loss and two sacks. That was him as a TRUE freshman. In his second year he absolutely destroyed the other teams' offensive lines, recording 11 sacks in 13 games plus 19 TFL. This guy can play either DE in a 4-3 defense or OLB in a 3-4.

There are pros and cons with Quinn. One con is that he did not get to play in 2010 due to a year-long suspension. A pro is that Quinn is a pass rushing specialist and he just has that it factor that will fit in nicely at Tennessee playing with Derrick Morgan at the other DE spot. Quinn is quick plus he has that sudden burst off the line. Also, he has a high ceiling and with good coaching and training he could easily be the next Dwight Freeney. He is a relentless pass rusher who is going to harass Peyton Manning for many years.
