Matthew Stafford Throws Passes To Draft Pick Titus Young

In a normal NFL offseason, this time of the year would be when the Detroit Lions' draft picks are meeting their new teammates and getting some work in with them on the football field. For someone like wide receiver Titus Young, he would be practicing with quarterback Matthew Stafford to establish timing and develop on-field chemistry. It's important for there to be some familiarity between the two so Stafford picks up on Young's route running and Young picks up on Stafford's throws.

Due to the NFL lockout, no official workouts are taking place that give Stafford and Young the chance to get together and throw the football around. That isn't stopping them from getting together on an unofficial basis, though. Young flew to Atlanta and worked out with Calvin Johnson on Friday, and on Saturday he got a chance to catch some balls from Stafford, who had this to say after they were done:

Just got done throwing with @TitusYoung kid was gettin it...looking forward to the season...less than a minute ago via Twitter for iPhone Favorite Retweet Reply

Young tweeted a couple pictures (one is above) from their workout, including one of Stafford throwing him a pass.
