The Detroit Lions continued their unofficial team workouts on Wednesday. Plans call for them to work out on Thursday as well. At that point they will call it a week and go back to working out on their own. If the lockout continues they could get together again in June, but I don't believe a specific date has been set just yet.
Here is a rundown of news from today's workout:
-
Dominic Raiola, Titus Young and Cliff Avril were not at today's workout, according to Chris McCosky. Matthew Stafford was not there at the time of McCosky's tweet, but he showed up shortly after.
- Calvin Johnson and Nate Burleson are both enjoying their time off due to the lockout. It's not often NFL players get to just sit back and relax for most of the offseason, so they are definitely embracing it.
- Jason Fox expects to compete for a starting job in 2011 now that he is actually healthy. Fox had a knee injury and said he was "never 100 percent healthy" last year.
- Tom Leyden recorded videos of interviews with Nate Burleson, Kyle Vanden Bosch and Matthew Stafford.
- Dre Bly attended today's workout because he said it is "better than going up to Lifetime (Fitness) to work out with a trainer and dealing with the activity going on around the gym -- and I have to deal with answering questions all the time about football and stuff like that."
