From July 5 to July 9, Nike will host a training camp of sorts that is called "The Opening." The purpose of the camp is for the best high school football players from around the country to converge on Beaverton, Oregon, to compete against each other in a variety of events. Here is more info on the event:
Nike will crown winners for the Nike 7ON tournament, Nike Linemen Challenge, and SPARQ Rating National Championship. Designed to give student-athletes the training and knowledge to develop their speed, explosiveness and position skills, "The Opening" brings together top performers from 12 Nike Football Training Camps, combined with other top prospects – all battling for the chance to claim ultimate bragging rights.
As part of the advertising campaign for the event, Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh did a commercial for it.
Suh has done a lot of work like this for Nike in the past, and considering Nike football players will be attending the event to "assist in coaching," I wouldn't be surprised if Suh showed up.
