Jeff Backus Not In ESPN's Left Tackle Top 10

ESPN continued its NFL power rankings series this week by having its division bloggers vote on the top 10 best left tackles in the league. As expected, Detroit Lions left tackle Jeff Backus did not make the top 10. In fact, he only received one vote, and it was from Kevin Seifert, ESPN's NFC North blogger.

Here is a look at the top 10:

  1. Joe Thomas (Cleveland Browns)
  2. Jake Long (Miami Dolphins)
  3. Ryan Clady (Denver Broncos)
  4. Jordan Gross (Carolina Panthers)
  5. D'Brickashaw Ferguson (New York Jets)
  6. Michael Roos (Tennessee Titans)
  7. Jason Peters (Philadelphia Eagles)
  8. Marcus McNeill (San Diego Chargers)
  9. Donald Penn (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
  10. Matt Light (New England Patriots)

Backus' one vote tied him for 14th overall with the Seattle Seahawks' Russell Okung. The three left tackles in front of them are Andrew Whitworth of the Cincinnati Bengals, Chad Clifton of the Green Bay Packers and Doug Free of the Dallas Cowboys.
