Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is 27th on the list of the NFL's top 100 players of 2011. The list was voted on by NFL players, and Johnson is the second Lions player on it. A few weeks ago, it was revealed that Ndamukong Suh is the 51st player in the top 100.
Lions head coach Jim Schwartz presented Johnson and said there aren't many players like him. Johnson has size, speed and athletic ability. The combination of all of those things for one player is "surreal" in Schwartz' mind. Schwartz also said, "Even when (Johnson) is covered, he's still open. The defensive back can be in perfect position and Calvin will take the ball right off his head."
Personally, I think 27th is way too low for Johnson. With his skill and play-making ability, Johnson seems like a player that should be in the top 20. Perhaps if Johnson has a healthy Matthew Stafford next season and continues to develop a connection with him, we will indeed see Megatron much higher on the list of the NFL's best players in 2012.
