The Detroit Lions are scheduled to open training camp on Thursday. That is when players will be expected to report by. They will take a day to go through physicals and to get everybody on the same page, and then the first practice will be held on Friday, according to Lions head coach Jim Schwartz.

Pride of Detroit will have full coverage of training camp like always, and there will also be full coverage of free agency all week long. Since it is all being compressed into a few days, expect plenty of news about signings, re-signings, trades and more.
UPDATE: There will be open practices again this year. It's unclear when the open practice schedule will come out, but the Lions' official site says one will be released.
