The Detroit Lions informed wide receiver Bryant Johnson earlier today that he is going to be released on Thursday. That is the first day NFL teams can officially release their players, and Johnson is the first Lion that is being cut.
As you can imagine, Johnson is probably quite disappointed that he is being let go, but he is being very classy about his exit from Detroit. On Twitter, he posted the following two things:
I want to thank the Lions, coaching staff, training staff, equipment staff, teammates, fans, and City of Detroit for the past 2 yrs.
God is with me no matter where I end up. The Lions are headed in the right direction and I wish you all well. God Bless
While things didn't work out with Johnson on the field, there's no doubt he is a class act. I wish him the best of luck and hope he lands on his feet somewhere.
