Detroit Lions Officially Release Bryant Johnson, Jordon Dizon

NFL teams were allowed to start releasing their players at 4 p.m. on Thursday. Much earlier in the week teams started to inform players they would be cut, but the moves couldn't become official until yesterday afternoon.

The Detroit Lions had informed two players that they would be cut: wide receiver Bryant Johnson and linebacker Jordon Dizon. Neither was let go on Thursday, or at least no moves were announced. On Friday, however, the Lions did make the cuts official.

The Detroit Lions have officially announced the release of LB Jordon Dizon and WR Bryant Johnson.

For the time being, these are the only two players expected to be released. Once camp gets rolling and the 90-man roster is established you could see some changes every now and then, but Dizon and Johnson could be the only two veteran players that are let go until late next month when the roster cuts begin.
