- Detroit Lions running back Mikel Leshoure had surgery, and it was done by none other than Dr. Robert Anderson. Leshoure is now the third Lions player to see Dr. Anderson in the last week. Nick Fairley visited him and had surgery, and Jason Fox saw him and found out surgery wasn't necessary. Leshoure obviously had to have surgery after suffering a season-ending Achilles injury, and he said "everything went well."
- Collin Mooney, the fullback from Army and son-in-law of Matt Millen, worked out for the Lions on Thursday. He told Tom Leyden that a spot isn't available for now, but the important thing is Mooney got his foot in the door. The Lions could always call him if the need for a fullback arises.
- Lions defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham is a huge fan of cornerback Eric Wright.
- Lions wide receiver Rashied Davis, who previously played for the Bears, described the grass at Soldier Field as "atrocious." In fact, he said that he isn't sure how the grounds crew is able to keep a job. I've wondered about this as well. The grass at Soldier Field is always bad, yet no significant changes have been made to fix it. It's baffling.
- The football weight room at Nebraska is named after Ndamukong Suh and has a picture of him in a Lions jersey.
