Detroit Lions Training Camp: Notes From Tuesday's Practice

  • Wide receiver Titus Young went through all of Tuesday's practice, according to Jim Schwartz.
"He made it all the way through. He went all the way through practice. Last period, he was still getting reps out there; we were scout team on some periods so it may have looked like he was out on some. Some of those periods, we just kept him warm; it might have looked like he got pulled out, but he wasn’t. He was just keeping his hamstring warm.

"That’s something that he’s going to have to get over. He’s not over the hump yet, but he’s probably right on that hump and we’ve just got to keep him going and going in the right direction."
Young apparently was feeling good enough to run back a punt during practice, although special teams coach Danny Crossman wasn't exactly pleased that Young did that.
  • Defensive tackle Andre Fluellen practiced for the first time since breaking his hand. He was still wearing a big cast on his hand, though.
  • Wide receiver Calvin Johnson missed Tuesday's practice as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury.
  • Tight end Richard Dickson missed practice again, and apparently he has a knee injury that might not be of the short-term variety. If that's the case, he will likely be waived/injured for the second straight year.
  • Wide receiver Rashied Davis and offensive tackle Gosder Cherilus got the day off to rest.
  • It looks like cornerback Alphonso Smith is almost ready to be activated from the active/non-football injury list.
