- The public memorial for Tom Kowalski was held yesterday. It was announced during the memorial that the NFL is donating $1,000 to charity in honor of Kowalski, the Lions are naming the press lounge at their facility after him, the Lions are going to start a scholarship in his name and a portion of the concessions from the first home game will be dedicated to his charities. (Check out pictures from the memorial here.)

Jason La Canfora reports that ex-Cowboys center Andre Gurode visited the Lions on Friday. That would make a lot more sense than him visiting on Thursday considering the team was in Buffalo at the time.
- Gurode is reportedly going to visit the New England Patriots next.
- Matt Clapp's nose was pretty messed up on Thursday.
- The season opener is eight days away, and already it looks like the Buccaneers will have their game against the Lions blacked out.
- The NFL suspended Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams for two games over the StarCaps case.
