The Detroit Lions made a change to their practice squad on Tuesday. Specifically, they placed wide receiver Patrick Edwards on the practice squad injured reserve and filled his spot by signing offensive guard Pat Boyle.
Both Edwards and Boyle joined the Lions as undrafted free agents earlier this year. Edwards managed to stick around as a member of the practice squad after being let go during the final round of cuts. For a while it looked like he was a good bet to make the 53-man roster, but he didn't do enough on special teams for that to happen.
Boyle was also let go during the final round of cuts. He actually was cut once before then as well. The Lions brought him back for training camp and decided to part ways again during the final round of cuts. Now he's back again with the Lions as a member of the practice squad.
