The Detroit Lions added a new face to their practice squad on Wednesday by signing defensive end Kendrick Adams. He takes the spot of cornerback Lionel Smith, who was placed on the practice squad injured reserve. Smith had just joined the practice squad on Oct. 3 to fill the vacancy that was created when Ricardo Silva was signed to the 53-man roster.
Adams is a rookie who spent his college days at LSU. He went undrafted and was with the Jacksonville Jaguars during the offseason. More recently, he spent time on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' practice squad. Now he is on the Lions' practice squad.
Here's a look at the eight players currently on the Lions' practice squad:
FB Shaun Chapas
WR Kris Durham
OG Pat Boyle
OG Rodney Austin
DE Kendrick Adams
DT Jimmy Saddler-McQueen
LB Carmen Messina
CB Conroy Black
In addition to Smith, wide receiver Patrick Edwards is also on the practice squad injured reserve for the Lions.
