Titus Young still not back with Lions but could 'potentially' return this season

Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young is still away from the team and was one of several players who missed practice on Tuesday.

US PRESSWIRE

It looks as though Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young will remain inactive for the time being. He missed last week's game after being sent home by the team, and he was not at the Lions' practice on Tuesday. Following practice, Lions head coach Jim Schwartz provided an update on Young's status by saying that the team will continue to evaluate his behavior and the situation, according to Brad Galli.

The biggest piece of news is what Schwartz said when asked about if Young is done for good with the Lions.

Schwartz also said that the ball is in Young's court as far as what needs to happen for him to return, according to CBS Lions. In other words, it's up to Young to change his attitude and show that he deserves to be a part of the team. If that happens, then the Lions may decide to give him one more chance. If not, though, then this could be the end of his time in Detroit.

In other news, OT Jeff Backus, OT Gosder Cherilus, OG Rob Sims, DE Cliff Avril, DT Corey Williams and S Louis Delmas also missed Tuesday's practice. All of these players are dealing with injuries.

The Lions' first injury report of the week will be released on Wednesday.
