The Detroit Lions were without six players when they hit the practice field on Wednesday. On Thursday, five of those players returned to practice on a limited basis. Most notably, offensive tackle Jeff Backus was able to practice, indicating that he has a chance to play this week. Also, running back Mikel Leshoure was back at practice, so his ankle issue doesn't seem to be anything serious, as expected.
