Lions at Vikings injury report: Calvin Johnson misses Wednesday's practice

New, comments

The Detroit Lions were once again without Calvin Johnson when they returned to practice on Wednesday.

Al Messerschmidt

As expected, wide receiver Calvin Johnson did not practice on Wednesday when the Detroit Lions returned to the field to start preparing for the Minnesota Vikings. Johnson missed practice all last week but still managed to put up big numbers against the Jacksonville Jaguars. After the game, he indicated that he expects his knee injury to linger throughout the season, so it'll probably be more newsworthy when he does practice going forward.

Johnson did say on Wednesday that he is feeling better this week compared to last. He added that he has some things to work on in order to "get better in treatment," but he said "it's definitely not as bad as last week." So that's good news.

Here's a look at the Lions' full Wednesday injury report:

RB Mikel Leshoure (Ankle) - Fully practiced
WR Calvin Johnson (Knee) - Didn't practice
WR Titus Young (Knee) - Didn't practice
DE Kyle Vanden Bosch (Not injury related) - Didn't practice
DE Cliff Avril (Back) - Didn't practice
DT Corey Williams (Knee) - Didn't practice
LB DeAndre Levy (Hamstring) - Limited in practice
LB Stephen Tulloch (Knee) - Fully practiced
S Louis Delmas (Knee) - Didn't practice
S Amari Spievey (Concussion) - Didn't practice
S Erik Coleman (Toe) - Limited in practice

The biggest story for the Vikings on Wednesday was that although wide receiver Percy Harvin did not practice, Minnesota head coach Leslie Frazier said that Harvin is "doing better." The Vikings weren't planning to have him practice on Wednesday, but Harvin could potentially be on the practice field on Thursday. If he is in fact able to practice, it would be an indication that Harvin could end up playing on Sunday.

Here's the full rundown on the Vikings' injury report:

RB Adrian Peterson (Ankle) - Fully practiced
FB Jerome Felton (Shoulder) - Limited in practice
WR Jerome Simpson (Calf) - Fully practiced
WR Percy Harvin (Ankle) - Didn't practice
TE John Carlson (Concussion) - Fully practiced

DT Letroy Guion (Foot) - Didn't practice
CB Antoine Winfield (Knee) - Limited in practice
