Which head coach would you want to lead the Lions?

If all bets were off and the Detroit Lions could have any head coach they wanted, who would you want them to hire?

Believe it or not, but this isn't another post calling for Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz to be fired. For those who do want a change to be made, the timing of Gillette's latest debate question worked out quite well. This week, Gillette wants to know which coach you would feel the most comfortable with leading your team into the playoffs.

My spin on this question is to see who you guys would pick to be the Lions' head coach if all of the current contracts were simply thrown out. Say that every head coach became a free agent and the Lions had the ability to simply offer a blank check. In other words, you have the option to hire anybody. Who would it be?

For me personally, I would probably go with Jim Harbaugh. I know he hasn't exactly gotten along with the Lions, but Harbaugh is a great football coach. Just look at how quickly he has turned the San Francisco 49ers into one of the best teams in the league. I wanted Michigan to hire him after they fired Rich Rodriguez, and I certainly would like to see what he could do with the Lions.

Let's hear your take on this question. If you could choose anybody to be head coach of the Lions, who would be your pick?
