When the NFL schedule was first released last April, this was one of the most highly anticipated games for Detroit Lions fans. A Saturday night contest on ESPN against the Atlanta Falcons? This had playoff implications written all over it. That was then. The reality of the situation is that the only playoff implications are related to the Falcons and whether or not they clinch home-field advantage. For the Lions, the only implications are on draft position and whether or not they can finally put this losing streak -- which is now at six games -- to an end.
