Lions vs. Bears inactives: Brandon Pettigrew active for Detroit

He was listed as doubtful on the injury report, but Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew is not among the inactives on Sunday.

USA TODAY Sports

Despite being considered doubtful for Sunday's game, Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew is active. He wasn't expected to play given his status, but he didn't show up on the list of inactives, meaning he is going to try to play on Sunday afternoon against the Chicago Bears.

Here's the list of players who are inactive for the Lions:

QB Kellen Moore
RB Kevin Smith
OT Jason Fox
OT Corey Hilliard
DE Ronnell Lewis
CB Drayton Florence
S Ricardo Silva

The Lions are going to start Ron Bartell at cornerback in place of Jonte Green on Sunday, likely to give Bartell an extended look before going into the offseason. He is actually under contract for 2013, but whether or not he will remain in their plans could depend on how he performs on Sunday.

Here are the Bears' inactives:

QB Josh McCown
RB Armando Allen
OT Cory Brandon
DT Nate Collins
LB Blake Costanzo
LB Brian Urlacher
S Chris Conte
