One of the players whose stock has been rising since the NFL Combine is Georgia's Cordy Glenn. The versatile offensive lineman performed extremely well in Indianapolis and has been rising up some draft boards as a result. He did 31 reps in the bench press and ran a 5.15-second 40-yard dash at 345 lbs., showing off his athleticism in the process.
At the start of the month, ESPN's Todd McShay had the Lions picking Glenn since he is viewed as a player who can start his career inside and potentially become a left tackle down the road. Now, two more sites have the Lions taking Glenn. One of SB Nation's post-combine 2012 NFL mock drafts has the Lions taking Glenn, as does the latest mock draft from NFL Network's Albert Breer. Here's what SB Nation had to say about the pick:
The Lions need to figure out ways to improve their interior offensive line. Matthew Stafford remained healthy this season, but if they want to keep him healthy for the foreseeable future, more protection is needed. Glenn is not a sexy pick, but he would be a very effective guard.
If the Lions draft Glenn with the intention of him eventually becoming a tackle, I'd rather them just go with a tackle to begin with. However, if they're looking for an inside player who is versatile, Glenn is not a bad pick by any means.
