The Detroit Lions need to improve their secondary this offseason by adding more talent and more depth. One way to kill two birds with one stone would be to sign a player like safety LaRon Landry. According to a report, several teams are interested in Landry, including the Lions.

Dave Birkett confirmed that the Lions "have some interest" in Landry, but no visit is currently planned.
Landry is an interesting player to talk about because of his injury problems, specifically with his Achilles tendon. When healthy, he is an outstanding player, and there's no doubt he would be a big upgrade for the Lions. Questions about his health will make it a risk to sign him, but if that risk pays off, the defense would get a big boost in 2012.
Side note: As SB Nation DC wrote last month, Landry is a large human being. Don't believe me? Take a look at this picture:
Yeah, I think I'd like to see him in a Lions uniform next season.
