Although the focus of today is squarely on the start of NFL free agency, the Detroit Lions spent some of their time hosting Coastal Carolina cornerback Josh Norman for a pre-draft visit. On Monday, the Lions held their first of 30 pre-draft visits for non-local players by bringing Miami (Ohio) offensive lineman Brandon Brooks to town.
Norman talked with the Lions' official site while in town for his visit, and I thought what he had to say about playing for a smaller school was pretty interesting.
"You're always slotted second to the big school guys. It doesn't matter your talent level. You're always going to be slotted under those guys because of what school they're at. I don't get it. Is that logo going to save you from going against a guy that's better than you?"
Norman certainly doesn't seem to be lacking any confidence, which is always a good thing for a cornerback.
