Although he has expressed his desire to return to the Detroit Lions, quarterback Shaun Hill is testing the free agent waters. He is seeing what other opportunities are out there, and one of them may be with the St. Louis Rams.

St. Louis is about six hours away from Hill's hometown of Parsons, Kansas. That could end up being a factor when Hill decides whether he wants to re-sign with the Lions or take up an offer from the Rams if one comes his way. Of course, there are many factors at play, including what the Lions are offering salary-wise.
If Hill were to sign with the Rams, he would get to back up Sam Bradford, and he would leave the Lions with a hole on their depth chart at quarterback. Drew Stanton is reportedly set to visit the New York Jets, but perhaps if Hill lands elsewhere Stanton will end up being re-signed. After all, if Hill left, the backup quarterback job would likely be all Stanton's if he wanted it.
