Earlier, it was reported that free-agent wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. was scheduled to visit the Detroit Lions. It was unknown if that visit was scheduled for today or tomorrow. All we knew was that he was headed to Allen Park at some point.
A few hours ago, MLive's Anwar Richardson got clarification on the visit and tweeted this:
San Francisco #49ers receiver Ted Ginn Jr. will visit #Lions later this afternoon instead of tomorrow #NFL

This may just be a coincidence, but perhaps the Lions wanted to make sure Ginn stopped by while Calvin Johnson is still in town. If the Lions want to sign Ginn and are recruiting him to join the team, it certainly would be helpful to have Johnson there to talk up the franchise right after he signed a monster contract. Not only can the Lions recruit him with the idea of playing with Megatron, but they can also say, "Look how we take care of our own."
