Detroit Lions Sign FB James Bryant

The Detroit Lions have added a fullback to the roster. His name is James Bryant, and he last played for the BC Lions of the CFL. He was actually a defensive end with the BC Lions, which is the position he played in college at Louisville. Before he transferred to Louisville, he began his career at Miami (Florida) as a fullback.

News of this signing originally came from Bryant's Twitter account, @BigHit_Bryant24. (It was also reported on ProCanes.com.) He tweeted this on Wednesday:

I just want to let everyone know what my new locker room will look like next season! Truly Blessed! From the #BCLions to the #DetroitLions

Bryant also tweeted a picture from within the Lions locker room, and I have confirmed with him that he finalized his contract today.

Bryant has the distinction of being the first fullback on the roster since the Lions released Jerome Felton last summer. While Will Heller did play some fullback, he was officially a tight end, and he is no longer on the team after being released on Monday.
