Eric Wright Wishes Lions The Best As He Leaves For Buccaneers

The Detroit Lions were not able to re-sign cornerback Eric Wright. By the time they actually had some cap space to work with, Wright had already inked a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. For him, it was a great move, as his deal with the Bucs is worth $37.5 million. For the Lions, it hurts to lose a player like Wright, but considering how much it would have cost them to keep him around, I think this is a situation that worked out just fine for everybody.

Although Wright isn't returning to the Lions, he had nothing but good things to say about the team when he bid them adieu on Twitter yesterday.

And best of luck to Wright in Tampa Bay (as long as the Bucs aren't playing the Lions).
